Instructions for Proper Sod & Turfgrass Soil Sampling

 

1) Collect 15 or more sub-samples per location in a regular grid pattern 

2) If the site varies in soil type, previous lime or fertilizer treatment, or other past         maintenance practices, take separate samples accordingly. 

3) Take separate samples from problem areas. 

4) Sample to a depth of 2 to 3 inches, discard thatch. 

5) Collect samples in a clean container 

6) Mix all sub-samples together to make one sample. 

7) Remove any stones, rocks, roots or foreign material from sample. 

8) Put in soil kit provided and clearly identify. 

9) Complete the informational sheet provided. 

10) Send to Agri Analysis, Inc.
